(Text in French below)

After 25 years of service as the Secretary General of AEIP, Bruno Gabellieri announced today at the AEIP General Assembly that he is officially stepping down from his position. The AEIP Board nominated him as an honorary member of AEIP.

Mr Gabellieri has been one of the founders of AEIP in Brussels, with a major contribution for the development of the organization throughout the years, creating a growing network of members, partners, and friends of AEIP. With the active role, support and coordination of Mr Gabellieri, the organization was established in 1996 by four paritarian funds – Assoprevidenza (Italy), BKK – Bundesverband (Germany), Technical Centre for Provident Insurance Undertakings – CTIP (France) and Integrale (Belgium). His valued service in AEIP has led the Association to where it stands today, based on his effective leadership towards the realization of the shared objectives of its members.

Throughout his work in AEIP, Mr Gabellieri has continuously contributed to the promotion of the paritarian social protection funds in Europe and internationally. His participation in various European-level advisory groups on behalf of AEIP and in numerous projects and research initiatives on topics linked to the modernization of social protection have expanded the policy discussions in Brussels, always highlighting the added value of the paritarian model.

At the global level, Bruno was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the World Pension Alliance (WPA) and served as its first Chair for the mandate in 2015. Since its foundation, the Alliance has grown to be one of the major players at the global level on pension policy, gathering the main advocacy associations representing pension plans and providers, currently including Europe, the United States of America, Canada, Latin America, and Australia.

In addition to his work in AEIP, Bruno Gabellieri is active in various functions at the French and European level. For the period 2013 – 2018, he was the External Relations and European Affairs Director of Humanis Group after various positions in APRI and APRIONIS Group. He has been a member of the Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group (OPSG) of CEIOPS / EIOPA between 2010 – 2016, in the mandate starting in 2018 as well as in the current mandate. Bruno holds a PhD in Law from the University of Nice, France and was a lecturer for post graduate students of social law at the University of Montpellier and a lecturer for postgraduates in the Insurance Institute of the University of Paris Panthéon Sorbonne (1988-2010). As of the beginning of 2019, he is appointed as the Chair of the Risk Committee and a member of the Presidency Council of CARAC (France), which currently operates with 12 billion AuM in the French Life Insurance market.

The AEIP staff and members express their appreciation for the enthusiasm, leadership, and dedication of Mr Gabellieri and highly value his numerous achievements in AEIP for the benefit and the promotion of the paritarian social protection model in Europe. We wish Mr Gabellieri lots of success in his future endeavors!
