The current research paper of AEIP focuses on compulsory membership in pension schemes. It includes an extensive analysis of the relevant jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice as well as of the regulatory and institutional framework in a few EU Member States. The goal of the paper is to give a comprehensive overview of the issue, by laying-out in a structured manner the legal arguments which examine compulsory membership in relation to EU competition law and freedom of services.
