Final Conference of the POST-MEET Project held at the European Parliament
On 3 February 2026, the Final Conference of the POST-MEET project took place at the European Parliament in Brussels. The event was organised by AEIP and kindly hosted by MEP Gabriele Bischoff, bringing together European institutions, social partners and sectoral stakeholders to discuss fair labour mobility, access to information and digital cooperation in the construction sector.
The conference was opened by MEP Gabriele Bischoff, followed by welcoming remarks from Simone Miotto, Executive Director of AEIP, and Federica Rosato, Project Officer at CNCE, who introduced the objectives of the POST-MEET project and set the scene for the day’s discussions.
Presenting the results of POST-MEET
The first session focused on the presentation of the main results achieved within the POST-MEET project. Partners presented a range of deliverables aimed at improving access to clear, reliable and practical information on posting in the construction sector. These included multilingual country guides on posting procedures and applicable working conditions, national and online seminars, as well as digital communication tools such as chatbots, videos and sector specific infographics.
The session highlighted how these tools were designed to address concrete information gaps, reduce language barriers and support both workers and employers in navigating complex national and European rules. Particular attention was given to the role of paritarian institutions and sectoral funds as key actors in supporting compliance, workers’ rights and cross border labour mobility.
Cross border cooperation, enforcement and fair labour mobility
The second session addressed challenges related to cross border cooperation and enforcement, placing the discussion within the broader context of the EU Fair Labour Mobility Package. Contributions from Raymond Maes (European Commission), Tom Deleu (EFBWW) and Domenico Campogrande (FIEC) focused on initiatives such as the proposed European Social Security Pass (ESSPASS), the strengthening of the European Labour Authority and the Skills Portability Initiative.
These developments were discussed as important steps to improve transparency, facilitate the verification of rights and obligations and strengthen cooperation between Member States. The session also highlighted the growing relevance of posted third country nationals, identified as a recurring challenge requiring clearer rules, better coordination and accessible information tools.
Looking ahead: posting and digitalisation
The final session explored the future of posting in the context of digitalisation. Policy perspectives were shared by Francesco Corti (European Commission) and Germana Viglietta (European Labour Authority). Discussions addressed the ongoing revision of the European Labour Authority’s mandate, with a focus on the importance of concerted and joint inspections in the construction sector, as well as the eDeclaration for posted workers, currently in the trilogue stage.
The Final Conference marked not only the conclusion of the POST-MEET project, but also an opportunity to reflect on ways to cooperate in the future. AEIP warmly thanks all speakers, partners and participants for their valuable contributions and engagement.
