“Follow up of Decentralized Thematic Social Dialogue for the Construction Industry” (DESOCO 2)

The main aim of the project is to discuss the social and economic challenges which will determine the future construction labour market (i.e., in the fields of employment, health and safety and vocational education and training). AEIP participated in the DESOCO 2 project as an active contributor to the efforts of enhancing the European Sectoral Social Dialogue within the construction industry. Building on its mission to represent paritarian social protection institutions, AEIP brought valuable insights to the ongoing work of strengthening industrial relations and supporting social dialogue structures.

Through its involvement, AEIP helped advance joint research and discussions on the European social dimension of the construction sector, reinforcing the importance of coordinated efforts to address emerging labour market and social protection challenges at EU level.

General objectives of the project are to:

  • Promote the European Social Dialogue at national level, while at the same time encouraging national social partners, especially from the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs), to be more involved in the European Social Dialogue of the construction industry.
  • Continue reinforcing the capacity of national social partners to engage in social dialogue
  • Strengthen involvement of social partners in EU policy making;
  • Discuss the social and economic challenges which will determine the future construction labour market.
  • During 2 years, FIEC and EFBWW will organise 4 thematic meetings in the different Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC’s).

PROJECT DURATION: 2 years (July 2023-June 2025)
